1. Original work

Articles must be your own original work and not published elsewhere. Plagiarism, spun or scraped content, and undisclosed republishing lead to rejection and may end your contributor access.

2. Responsible use of AI tools

You may use AI tools to help research, outline or edit, but the substance - testing, analysis, opinions and voice - must be yours, and you are responsible for every fact in the piece. Wholly machine-generated articles are not accepted.

3. Accuracy

  • Test the steps you describe on current software versions, and say which versions you used.
  • Link to primary sources for claims, statistics and quotes.
  • Flag anything date-sensitive (prices, availability, features) so readers can judge freshness.

4. Usefulness and clarity

Lead with what the reader needs. Use descriptive headings, short paragraphs, numbered steps for procedures, and screenshots or code examples where they help. Headlines must accurately describe the article.

5. Images and media

Only use images you created or have the right to use, and credit sources. Remove personal information from screenshots.

6. Independence and disclosure

Disclose any relationship with a company or product you write about. Paid placements, affiliate spam and promotional articles are not accepted.

7. Safety

We don't publish instructions for causing harm, evading the law, or compromising other people's accounts or devices. Security topics must focus on protection.

8. The review process

Editors may request changes, edit for clarity and house style, update headlines and images, or decline an article. You will see all feedback in your contributor dashboard. Published articles may be updated to keep them accurate.
